my third time in lawrence kansas, i finally got lucky. axed a couple of people and then found my way to William S Burroughs' house; the place where he lived and wrote from 1981 to his death in 1997. i happened upon tom, who lives there now, and was gracious ( gave me a tour and welcomed me as fellow agent ); later i came back after the show - in which i happily BLASTD the crowd with the parts of 'eats darkness' where ol' Bill prophesies from - & was shocked to meet james Grauerholz, burroughs' editor, assistant, and closest friend during those years. james was in fact a no-reply when i was attempting to get poetry 'clearances' (hahaha) for the record. now, here i was, playing 'eats darkness' for him Directly...while i was Sitting in Bill's place at His table, pissing in his toilet, having beer and discussing some arcane points in both burroughs' mind control theories and his funeral etiquette. for me, it was an essential connection made; the touch of unseen hands, invisible universes of black humour, geography-magic.
the photo is of the car bill bought and apparently 'drove' for a few months until it was deemd not-a-good-thing for him to do, and it was buried deep the back yard.

With the band currently on stage performing in Winnipeg on the first night of a month-long tour supporting Gogol Bordello, we at AOH.com, would like to take a second to thank everyone who has supported Apostle by purchasing your tickets in advance to the band's upcoming shows.
A few weeks back we announced that we'd randomly draw one name from the bowl of ticket holders who purchased through the Arts & Crafts webstore GalleryAC.com and that person is Michel Mathieu! Michel will receive a hand-picked Apostle of Hustle prize package in the mail in the coming days.
Thanks again to everyone and we hope to see you at one of the shows!
